A Finnish martial arts instructor’s claims about a supernatural technique called “Empty Force” were put to the test during a recent demonstration, leading to unexpected results.
Jukka Lampila, who promotes a technique known as EFON (Empty Force), attempted to showcase his abilities by trying to knock down a reporter without physical contact. The demonstration, which was captured on video, showed Lampila’s students falling dramatically when he performed his movements. However, when the reporter volunteered to participate, the results were markedly different.
“It’s easy when you’ve practiced,” Lampila explained when asked about the technique. “Everything you know becomes easy in principle after training.”
When questioned why the reporter remained standing despite Lampila’s attempts, the instructor offered an explanation: “As we noted here, of course you could be taken down by force or through pain. The starting point is largely that the more intention there is in the attack, the more intention you give to it – that’s basically the driving force that we guide and use.”
The incident has sparked discussions in martial arts communities about the authenticity of non-contact martial arts practices. While Lampila’s students appeared to respond dramatically to his movements, the reporter’s experience suggested different results under neutral testing conditions.
The demonstration has since gained attention online, contributing to ongoing debates about the verification of martial arts claims and the importance of objective testing in martial arts practices.
