Joe Rogan Experience #2544 kicked off with Chris Williamson gifting Rogan a copy of the Lenny Bruce biography, but the conversation eventually wound its way to a lighthearted accusation: that Williamson had swiped Rogan’s plan to sit down with Hunter Biden.
“When you talked to Hunter Biden, did you do you guys talk about crack?” Rogan asked. Williamson replied, “All the time.”
“So, I told you that I was going to do that. And then we didn’t do that and you did it,” he noted.
Williamson pushed back immediately. “I didn’t take the idea. I promise.”
Rogan clarified that he had mentioned the plan to Williamson without saying it was already scheduled. “I told it to you though. You already had it booked in advance, but you didn’t tell me you had it booked. I told you that we were going to do it.”
When Williamson asked whether he should have said something, Rogan waved it off. “No. Doesn’t matter.”
Rogan explained that his own Hunter Biden sit-down had fallen through because of scheduling conflicts around a planned “Protect Our Parks” episode featuring Ari Shaffir, who had moved to London but agreed to fly back for it.
He noted, “We were going to do a protect our parks with Hunter Biden, but then Ari, because we thought Ari couldn’t make it, we wanted to do another protect our parks… And we were like, all right, Hunter Biden. And so we didn’t.”
Looking back, Rogan seemed almost relieved things worked out the way they did, since Williamson’s episode covered plenty of ground on Hunter Biden’s history with d*ugs.
“It’s just as well. He talked a lot about cr*ck.” Rogan added that he found Hunter surprisingly likable. “Dude, I got to say, he’s so likable. It’s terrifying how likable he is.”
Rogan noted the strange position Hunter now occupies in public life. He said, “It’s interesting that he took a long time out of the public eye, many, many years, and then he sort of reemerged. And some people are very upset… that like these conservatives are platforming him.”
