Steven Peterson is an American mixed martial artist who has competed in the UFC from 2018. He is currently on a losing streak having lost to Erosa in 2022 and Lucas Alexander in 2023. His record stands at 19 wins and 11 losses. Peterson has competed in the Featherweight and Bantamweight divisions unlike Danis who competed at Welterweight but is likely eligible to go down to lightweight.
Dillon Danis was on hand at MSG for UFC 295. Danis is a longtime resident of New York and angling for a contract with the promotion.
A number of UFC champions and stars have advocated for the UFC to sign him, regardless of the feelings they might have about him.
In addition to it, Danis has trained some with Alex Pereira, and has received his endorsement.
But some of the more obscure talent is seeing the traction Danis is getting with his provocative online persona and are eager to make an example. This is how Danis came to have a very difficult moment with Peterson.
The whole thing was captured by NELK’s cameras. They too attended the show, seated behind former US president, Donald Trump and Kid rock.
The conflict was defused quickly but it does present an interesting question: will the UFC bite the bullet and give Danis a shot? While Danis has great BJJ, he’s undergone two knee reconstructions and hasn’t competed in MMA or Grappling in years.
He was briefly set to compete at Polaris, however after the lucrative boxing deal with Logan Paul he bowed out.
