Combat sports fans who tuned in to Rough N’ Rowdy 25 on Friday night got more than they bargained for. In fact, they witnessed a real-life police arrest inside of the ring.
Barstool Sports hosted another installment of its Rough N’ Rowdy boxing event, which typically features inexperienced, out-of-shape stars swinging for a knockout from the opening bell. The main event of the night featured a matchup between two individuals named Mikey Bets and Zach Abel. Neither have real combat experience, but there was some bad blood between the two stemming from a confrontation during the weigh-ins, so fans were hoping for some memorable action.
Unfortunately, the bout itself was a complete letdown. Luckily, the aftermath left fans with a lasting impression. After the verdict was read and Abel found out he lost via split decision, he proceeded to punch one of Bets’ cornermen right in the face. All chaos broke loose, and ringside security quickly rushed in to subdue Abel. He was eventually brought to the ground and arrested inside of the ring. It was a truly memorable scene even for a makeshift event like RNR 25.
The video of the incident captures the complete mayhem that ensued. Abel can be seen striking one of Bets’ cornermen, prompting an immediate response from the security personnel. They quickly tackle Abel to the ground and proceed to arrest him right there in the middle of the ring as the fans look on in disbelief.
