UFC London: McCann scores first spinning-elbow KO in women’s UFC

McCann  was the first British female fighter to ever fight on a UFC main card. She did not disappoint anyone with her performance.

Molly “Meatball” McCann faced the Brazilian Muay Thai expert Luana Carolina on the main card’s second fight.

Being much shorter than her opponent, McCann had a gameplan of rushing into Carolina to close the distance. During the first round, that strategy worked perfectly. McCann put the Brazilian in all sorts of trouble. McCann dictated a crazy pace with several flurries of punches that nearly put the Brazilian out.

The fight’s biggest moment came in the third round. After a grueling second round, Carolina looked like she was starting to get the better out of the striking exchanges. But all of a sudden, McCann throws a spinning elbow that knocks her opponent out cold.

This knockout is a serious contender for knockout of the year. It is also the first-ever spinning elbow knockout in Women’s UFC history.

With that astonishing victory, McCann is now on a 2-fight winning streak and hopes to enter the flyweight divisions ranking.

The fellow British MMA star Paddy Pimblett was seen celebrating McCann’s victory.

Pimblett is about to make his UFC return as he faces the Brazilian Rodrigo Vargas in a lightweight bout.
