UFC London: Aspinall finishes Volkov in the first round

UFC London was one of the best cards of the year. Tonight’s events showcased a lot of attractive athletes.

The heavyweight main event featured a showdown between Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov and did not disappoint.

In one of the best performances of his career, Aspinall made easy work of the Russian Heavyweight veteran. During the fight, Aspinall was able to get Volkov to the ground and dominate him with ground and pound enough to attempt a submission.

Near the end of round 1, Aspinall was in top half guard when he secured an arm lock submission that forced the Russian to tap.

With that performance, Tom Aspinall continues his perfect UFC run. Undefeated with 5 fights for the organization, the Englishman is on an 8-fight win streak.

Close to breaking into the top 10 of the division, Aspinall then challenged the number 3 ranked fighter Tai Tuivasa for a fight.

UFC London was a great night for the “home team”. Out of 5 fights featuring British fighters in the main card, the Brits won 4 of them, all by finish.

The night featured great finishes including the knockout of the year contender and record-breaking Spinning Elbow KO by Sarah McCann, and the first-round submission victory by MMA star Paddy Pimblett.
