A woman who is pursuing a personal damages claim against renowned mixed martial artist Conor McGregor was the target of a terrifying burglary at her Dublin home. The incident, which took place in the early hours of Friday morning, has left the woman and her family deeply shaken.
According to reports, three masked men forcibly entered the woman’s home in Drimnagh, a suburb located on Dublin’s southside, around 2:20 a.m. on Friday. Brazenly making their way upstairs, the intruders encountered the woman’s partner at the bedroom door, demanding to know the location of their valuables with the chilling words, “Where’s the money?”
The situation quickly escalated as the woman’s partner, a man in his 30s, was pushed backwards and punched in the face. Despite the assault, he managed to fight back and force the burglars down the stairs, though not without sustaining a stab wound to his stomach in the process. The commotion also resulted in several windows being shattered throughout the home.
In the aftermath of the harrowing incident, a source close to the situation described the woman as “distraught.” The source revealed that she had injured herself while knocking on the windows and shouting for help. The authorities have since taken over the premises and advised the family not to return to their home for the time being.
The Garda, Ireland’s national police service, confirmed the report of an aggravated burglary in Drimnagh on Friday morning, stating that a man in his 30s was conveyed to St. James’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
It is important to note that there is no indication that this attack is connected to the woman’s ongoing legal case against Conor McGregor. The hearing, which was initially filed in the High Court over three years ago, is currently scheduled to commence in November and is expected to last for two weeks. McGregor has vehemently denied all allegations against him.
Despite efforts to seek a comment from McGregor’s representatives, no response was received at the time of publication. The woman’s solicitor, David Coleman, declined to comment on the matter, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
As the investigation into this brazen burglary continues, the safety and well-being of the victims remain a top priority. The authorities are working diligently to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime.
