Slip of the tongue? Kayla Harrison’s manager dubs her roided out Ronda Rousey

Kayla Harrison is gearing up for what could be the most significant bout in her MMA journey.

Harrison will enter the Octagon for the first time on Saturday, April 13. She will compete in the promotion’s UFC 300 event in Las Vegas. The two-time PFL lightweight champion will take on Holly Holm in her bantamweight debut there.

Despite the anticipation surrounding her clash with Holm, much of the discussion revolves around Harrison’s weight cut rather than the impending match itself.

The spotlight is on Harrison’s transition from 155 pounds down to 135 pounds, a shift that has captured the attention of pundits and fans alike. Speculations arise regarding the version of Harrison that will emerge within the Octagon as she confronts Holm.

Addressing concerns surrounding Harrison’s weight adjustment, her manager Ali Abdelaziz emphasizes confidence in her ability to meet the bantamweight limit.

In an interview with Kevin Iole, he said: “That’s the best thing overall for her life as an individual. Losing all this extra weight, feeling good about yourself, looking great. She look like amazing and healthier. Right? She’s close to weight, she’s not far from it.”

Emphasizing Harrison’s muscular physique, Abdelaziz highlights the advantage it provides in the weight-cutting process.

He said: “She have a lot of muscles. And people who lose weight? Water inside the muscle. People who are muscular, it’s a lot easier to lose weight than people who have fat. She’s got a great team around her, Mike Brown, a lot of other people. Everybody, don’t worry about her weight. Everybody using her weight as excuse to not fight her or not going to fight if she miss weight or whatever.”

“At the end of the day, she’s a two-time Olympic champion, two-time PFL champion, never missed weight, make 145 during COVID in her room, you know what I’m saying?”

In addition, Abdelaziz has faith that Kayla Harrison will defeat Holly Holm to get her first shot at UFC title.

Abdelaziz shows unwavering faith in Harrison’s skills, foreseeing a triumphant performance against Holm and a subsequent path towards UFC glory. He draws parallels between Harrison and legendary competitors like Ronda Rousey, projecting her to become a significant figure in the sport.

“She will make weight and listen, at the end of the day, just tune in. She will be one of the biggest stars, she does what she have to do against Holly Holm. She’s very tough, very seasonal, she’ll go there and smash her. She’ll get a title shot, become a UFC champion. We have a Ronda Rousey on ster*ids, that’s what we have.”
