UFC has been building up the feeder organizations so it’s not very common to see someone come in with a fanbase in tow.
Sharaputdin Magomedov, also known as “Shara Bullet” or simply “Bullet,” is a rising MMA prospect from Dagestan, Russia, who is rumored to be making his debut in the UFC this summer. What makes his debut so special is that he confirmed signing a contract with significantly higher pay compared to the average UFC debutant.
“I said in one interview that if the UFC offered me an exclusive $50,000 + $50,000 at least – I would probably accept it. And they offered me more than 50 + 50. I got far more than I bargained for” – Sharaputdin previously revealed.
But there’s no slow start attached. Apparently, Shara Bullet aims to make his debut against Marvin Vettori sometimes this spring or early summer.
Magomedov told Ushatayka:
“I told you, I want to fight Marvin Vettori.”
Interviewer responded: “They will definitely give it to you. Especially since he is fighting with Roman Dolidze.”
Magomedov replied: “I hope he wins this fight. I don’t think Roman Dolidze will win. But in general, it would be beneficial for me if he won and I fought him.”
Previously Magomedov discussed the possibility of getting matched with Chechen star Khamzat Chimaev, who he met in Thailand. Chimaev is rumored to be moving up to middleweight since welterweight title is locked up with Usman rematching champion Leon Edwards in London in March.
Apparently both Chimaev and Magomedov were recently at Tiger Muay Thai. As per Magomedov:
“Yes, we met. I have a lot of acquaintances in Lviv. We greeted each other, but we didn’t communicate.”
Magomedov also indicated Chimaev is definitely aware of his signing with the UFC. Vettori is booked to face Roman Dolidze at UFC 286 in London in March.
