Ronda Rousey to star in reality series about conquering Mars

FOX is gearing up for a new unscripted reality show called ‘Stars on Mars’. The show will feature 12 celebrities from various industries, including reality stars, professional athletes, business owners, actors, comedians, and trailblazing entertainers.

The participants will set off on a fictitious trip to Mars in the television show. The twelve crew members will function as if they are on a real space expedition- eating, sleeping, and strategizing as they go as if on real space exploration. They will compete against one another and eliminate a team member each week until only one is left.

William Shatner (who played Captain Kirk on Star Trek) will lead Mission Control and assign the participants to their interstellar missions. Shatner went into space on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin space ship in October 2021.

The 92-year-old Shatner stated in the ‘Stars on Mars’ teaser: “To any celebrities out there, don’t try this at home.”

The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey is one of the celebrities who will be competing in the show. Although she has not appeared on WWE for some time, her fans can look forward to seeing her on TV screens again very soon.

Rousey last appeared on WWE television at WrestleMania 39, when she and Shayan Baszler defeated Natalya and Shotzi, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, and Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Due to knee injury and broken arm, she has not yet been been given the all-clear to compete in the ring. Additionally, Rousey just transferred from Friday Night SmackDown to Monday Night Raw.

The other celebrities competing on the program include professional cyclist Lance Armstrong, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, singer Tinashe, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, comedian and actress Natasha Leggero, Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz, Superbad star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, NFL player Richard Sherman, ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ alum Porsha Williams Guobadia, actress Ariel Winter, and entrepreneur and artist Tallulah Willis.

‘Stars on Mars’ is a bold attempt to take the genre to a new frontier, by combining celebrity star power with an interstellar setting. With William Shatner at the helm, viewers can expect an exciting and unique show that will keep them on the edge of their seats.

‘Stars on Mars’ will premiere on June 5th at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
