The boxing world is abuzz with the news of an upcoming exhibition match between the legendary Manny Pacquiao and former K-1 Kickboxing world champion Rukiya Anpo. But this is no ordinary bout, as RIZIN, the event’s organizer, has implemented a groundbreaking rule that could cost Anpo a staggering $5 million if he dares to kick the Filipino icon.
Pacquiao, revered as one of the greatest boxers of all time, has earned multiple world titles across various weight classes and organizations, including the prestigious Lineal title in five divisions. Now, the 44-year-old is set to take on the Japanese-born Anpo in a special rules fight at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo on July 28.

The rules of the bout are unique, blending elements of boxing and kickboxing. While Pacquiao and Anpo will engage in a three-round exhibition match, the addition of spinning back fists adds an extra layer of excitement. However, the real twist comes in the form of RIZIN’s unprecedented ruling.
RIZIN president Nobuyuki Sakakibara explained the stakes, stating, “Any violation will be punishable by a $5 million fine. At the time of Tenshin vs. Mayweather in 2018, that was approximately $500 million, but due to the weak yen, that figure is now around $750 million [laughs].”
Sakakibara’s warning is clear: if Anpo steps out of line and dares to kick the legendary Pacquiao, he will face a staggering $5 million penalty. The president added a chilling remark, stating, “If Anpo is unable to pay that much money, then he will have no choice but to pay with his body [laughs].”
The Super Rizin 3 event will feature a diverse lineup, including bare-knuckle fights and MMA matches, but the main attraction will undoubtedly be the special rules contest between Pacquiao and Anpo.
