Priyanka Chopra Jonas sat down with Joe Rogan for a conversation on episode #2464 of the Joe Rogan Experience, and from the very first minute, she made sure he knew exactly how much she admired him.
Before the interview even properly got underway, Chopra opened with a dose of admiration. “I won’t lie, I am nervous to talk to you,” she admitted. Rogan seemed surprised and asked why.
Chopra doubled down, “I came in slightly intimidated.” When he pressed for the reason, she quickly pivoted into praise: “I think what I really enjoy about your show is just such an eclectic perspective on so many diverse things and it comes so naturally to you. I really admire that.”
Rogan explained that he simply picks guests he is genuinely interested in talking to, and Chopra immediately seized the opening. “Thank you for picking me,” she said.
As the conversation wandered into Rogan’s favorite territory, ancient civilizations, pyramids, and the mysteries of human evolution, Chopra continued positioning him as the intellectual guide.
“I have heard theories but I want to know yours,” she told him, adding, “I have so much extensive knowledge from the amazing guests that you have on the show.”
She even tried nudging him toward India as a travel destination, saying, “Joe, you have to. You would really like it. You are the kind of guy who likes a deep dive. You would really lose yourself.”
Later, when Rogan shared the origin story of his podcast, how he and his friend Brian started it with nothing more than a laptop because it sounded fun, Chopra responded like she’d just heard the most inspiring startup tale ever. “Wow. How inspiring,” sge stated
She also praised the format of the show itself, contrasting it with the short, tightly controlled interviews celebrities usually do. “Your format, where you are just chatting for a few hours, gives you the ability to really be yourself and be seen as yourself, which is why I think people really love podcasts,” she said.
Traditional press junkets, she argued, are far less revealing: “You form a relationship with whoever this public person is based on those few lines.”
By the time the episode wrapped up, Chopra made sure to end on one last note of appreciation. “Thank you for taking me around the world and everywhere else. We time-traveled. We talked about the whole world. We went into history. We went into the future. It was awesome.”
To be fair to Chopra, the conversation was genuinely engaging and she held her own throughout. But from the opening admission of nerves to the closing thank-you, she rarely missed a chance to let Rogan know she thought he was something special.
