Nate Diaz set for Jorge Masvidal boxing rematch in March in Las Vegas

The highly anticipated rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz has been officially confirmed. Influencer boxing outlet Happy Punch revealed the news, disclosing that the two combatants are set to compete once more.

Unlike their previous UFC encounter, this bout will take place in the boxing ring. The event will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The specific date for this epic showdown is yet to be unveiled but is slated for March.

In a surprising turn, the UFC has granted Jorge Masvidal the green light to square off against  Nate Diaz. While Masvidal remains bound by a UFC contract, Diaz is not tethered to the organization.

Masvidal’s recent retraction of his retirement announcement aligns seamlessly with the upcoming bout. Furthermore, Jake Paul divulged information about this matchup a week ago.

The initial clash between Masvidal and Diaz occurred in November 2019 during the BMF title match. Masvidal showcased dominance throughout the three rounds, delivering an early knockdown to Diaz. He maintained his dominant position for the majority of the bout.

Despite Diaz’s reputation for late comebacks, a cut stoppage prevented him from mounting a late surge. This left some fans unsatisfied with the conclusion.

Nearly five years since their first confrontation, the prospect of a second bout between them in boxing looms large. Both combatants have encountered setbacks in their respective careers after their first showdown.

Following the BMF matchup, Masvidal endured a series of defeats. He ended up acquiring four consecutive losses, marking the end of his Octagon tenure.

On the other hand, Diaz continued his career with two cage appearances. He ended up losing against Leon Edwards but securing a win over Tony Ferguson. With the win, he finally retired from UFC.

However, his most recent venture was into professional boxing. This resulted in a decision loss against social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul.
