Nate Diaz dismisses Jon Jones from Greatest of all time conversation due to PED suspension

Nate Diaz has always been candid with his fans which has won him the affections of the audience. Diaz’s last bout in the UFC is bittersweet with the star going into it jaded after the UFC reportedly dismissed his attempts to get booked against Tony Ferguson, Vicente Luque, Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier.

Instead he was shoe horned into an unfavorable match up against Khamzat Chimaev – but he’s just happy to be become a free agent. During the press tour for his UFC 279 event, Diaz discussed a frequent hot topic among MMA fans and athletes – the list of Greatest of all time (ie GOATs).

“But you’re sneak-ster0iding and then you’re considered? You’re out of the question,” Diaz told ESPN “That whole legacy’s gone and done with.”

Initially Diaz listed the ‘OG’ goats Anderson Silva, Georges St Pierre and Fedor Emelianenko however he quickly recanted about Silva due to the fact that Silva too tested positive for PEDs in the past.

Diaz was also dismissive of the current top 5 Pound for Pound rankings due to the fact Usman was on top for so long – and he was knocked out by Diaz’ previous opponent whom he wobbled famously in round 5.

Nate Diaz also showcased a spot on impression of Kamaru Usman.

Ultimately one of the biggest takeaways from his interview is that he’s once again being used to promote this match up – one that he in no way asked for:

“And what they got me doing right now? Is they’re acting like I called for this fight, which I didn’t call for and don’t want and didn’t want and still don’t want. But I don’t give a f-ck, I’ll fight anybody. But, pressure’s on him, he better finish me, because he’s the next killer in town…”

“it’s about ‘making’ this guy. And I’m like, ‘Okay, you guys aren’t going to let me go? Because I’m the best fighter here? And you’re not gonna let me go unless it’s off of somebody? I gotta make somebody for you? Well, alright, you’re welcome. Let’s make you.’ You’re welcome, UFC. You’re welcome, Dubai. You’re welcome all you motherf-ckers in your country. You’re welcome.”
