MMA Analyst calls out Andrew Schulz for doing a 180 on supporting Trump Administration When His Popularity is Fading

MMA analyst Luke Thomas has delivered a pointed critique of comedian Andrew Schulz, accusing him of reversing course on his Trump support only after witnessing the administration’s controversial actions firsthand.

During a recent episode of his political commentary show, Thomas addressed Schulz’s comments on the “Flagrant” podcast regarding ICE operations and the administration’s response to the Alex Pretti incident in Minneapolis.

While Schulz expressed disgust at the administration’s handling of events, Thomas argued that this criticism comes far too late.

“I appreciate that you can see this now a little bit more clearly for what it is, but honestly, you don’t really have that much of an excuse because this was easy to see from the beginning,” Thomas stated, addressing Schulz directly.

Thomas pointed out that Schulz hosted Trump on his podcast in October 2024, months after the Republican National Convention where mass deportation plans were prominently displayed and discussed.

According to Thomas, Schulz failed to ask substantive questions about these policies or their potential consequences.

“You didn’t ask him anything about mass deportation. You didn’t ask him anything related to these questions,” Thomas noted. “The answer is it doesn’t matter because you are hopelessly out of your depth.”

The analyst emphasized that Trump’s previous term provided ample evidence of what a second administration might entail. Thomas suggested that Schulz’s failure to conduct a rigorous interview helped legitimize Trump to certain audiences.

“You played a very important role in helping him connect to parts of the electorate that are hard to reach,” Thomas explained. “You guys dressed this whole thing up and now you’re like, ‘Well, we don’t like what’s happening.'”

While Thomas acknowledged the value of people reconsidering their positions, he insisted that public figures bear a greater responsibility. He called on Schulz to publicly examine his role in supporting the administration before facing its consequences.

“This is a moment for you to reflect on your various and significant and frankly to everybody else obvious failures that contributed to a dark and potentially trajectory altering moment of political time in the United States,” Thomas declared.

Thomas concluded by urging Schulz to issue a public reckoning of his choices, suggesting that only through acknowledging these missteps can he begin to repair the damage done. According to the analyst, failing to do so would leave Schulz’s contribution to the current political climate as a permanent mark on his career.
