Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has shared details about the extraordinary lengths he went to in order to circumvent drug testing procedures during his professional career.
Speaking on his “Hotboxin'” podcast, the 54-year-old boxing legend admitted to using a prosthetic device known as a “whizzinator” to submit clean urine samples.
Mike Tyson is Not the Only Person to Admit to Using the Whizzinator.
Jeff Monson, a former UFC heavyweight title contender, admitted to using the infamous “Whizzinator” to dodge a PED test ahead of his 2006 bout against Tim Sylvia at UFC 65. Monson, now 53, confessed he feared failing the test after cycling off banned PEDs and resorted to using the fake p*nis device filled with someone else’s clean urine. The Whizzinator had gained notoriety in the mid-2000s for helping athletes cheat PED screenings.
This device, essentially a fake anatomical part with a tube connected to a bag, allowed him to submit someone else’s urine instead of his own.
“It was awesome, man, I put my baby’s urine in it,” Tyson revealed on the podcast.
What prompted this unusual choice? According to Tyson, he initially used his wife’s urine but later switched to using his child’s after a humorous but concerning conversation.
“One time I was using my wife’s and my wife was like ‘Baby you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something’,” Tyson recounted. “And I said ‘we ain’t going to use you any more, we’re going to use the kid’, because I got scared that the p*** might come back pregnant.”
Tyson has been married multiple times. He was wed to Robin Givens briefly in 1988, though they had no children together. He later married Monica Turner in April 1997, with whom he had two children before their divorce in January 2003. His current marriage to Lakiha ‘Kiki’ Spicer began in 2009, four years after his retirement from professional boxing, and they share two children.
In his 2013 autobiography “Undisputed Truth,” Tyson was open about his struggles with coke use, revealing that he began using at the young age of 11. He admitted to using until shortly before his 2004 loss to Britain’s Danny Williams.

Tyson also disclosed that he was under the influence during his 2000 bout against Lou Savarese. That same year, he tested positive for weed and received a $200,000 fine.
Mike Tyson recently stepped back into the boxing ring to face YouTube sensation Jake Paul on November 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Paul defeated the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion via unanimous decision. The bout was streamed globally on Netflix and drew 65 million concurrent viewers, making it the most-streamed sporting event ever at the time. Following this high-profile bout, there have been ongoing rumors and reports about potential negotiations between Tyson and MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko for another boxing match. Earlier reports suggested that Fedor and his team were in advanced negotiations for a boxing match against Tyson in Saudi Arabia, with finances being the main remaining detail to work out. However, some sources have contradicted these claims, with Tyson’s representatives reportedly stating that such negotiations are false and that he has no interest in facing Emelianenko. Despite the conflicting reports, the possibility of this cross-combat sports superfight continues to generate interest among fans.
