Mike Tyson names best active fighter and makes “legend” prediction

Boxing legend Mike Tyson has faith in lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis. ‘Iron’ Mike believes that Davis will be remembered as a legend.

Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers in history. He retired from professional boxing in 2005, leaving a great legacy behind him. The 56-year-old has a total score consisting of 50 wins and 6 losses, knocking out 44 of his opponents viciously.

Tyson remains one of the most respected figures in boxing. He is also a pretty famous influencer among combat sports fans. Despite having retired for years, Tyson still trains boxing and keeps in touch with the sport.

During a recent talk with TMZ, Mike Tyson discussed which boxers have the highest chance to be a big star. Tyson answered firmly that Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is the best active boxer right now and will be a legend.

“‘Tank’ is a great fighter. He’ll be a legend too if he keeps fighting. He’s probably the best fighter out there right now.” Tyson said.

Grevonta Davis is an excellent athlete inside the squared circle. He made his professional debut in 2013 and would later unified the super featherweight title. He also became lightweight and super lightweight in 2019 and 2021.

The 28-year-old is a knockout artist and has defeated several prominent opponents. His most famous win was against four-weight world champion Leo Santa Cruz, where he knocked him out with a vicious uppercut. Davis still has a clean score, currently undefeated with a total of 28 matches with 26 of them ended via knockouts.

For his next challenge, Davis will face Ryan Garcia in a catchweight bout of 136 lbs. Both of them claimed that it’s a “done deal” and are set to share the ring on April 15 in Las Vegas. However, this match is highly doubted after Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya said that he has not received the contract yet.
