McGregor aims a dig at Khabib during Road House presser

In a recent interview during the tour of his upcoming movie ‘Road House’, Conor McGregor directed a sharp comment towards his long-standing rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Since sustaining a leg injury in 2021, UFC sensation McGregor hasn’t come back to the MMA cage. While focusing on his recovery and aiming for a comeback, he has also entered the world of acting.

McGregor will be making his acting debut in Road House, and shares the screen with Hollywood heavyweight Jake Gyllenhaal. Even amidst his acting pursuits, UFC remains a prominent thought for McGregor. This has been evident during a promotional interview for Road House.

Engaged in a game of ‘This or That’ with UNILAD, McGregor seized an opportunity to jab at Khabib, his long-time adversary.

McGregor and Gyllenhaal were asked who they woul like to fight, a bear or a gorilla.

Seeing his chance to mock his former rival, McGregor said: “I’ll go this [bear.] Fighting a bear is handy. I fought one that trained with bears back in the day. He’s only a little fool. He went running.”

McGregor’s comment alludes to Khabib’s childhood practice of wrestling bears, which the Russian shared videos of online.

The rivalry between McGregor and Khabib stems from their iconic clash at UFC 229 in 2018, marking the highest-selling event in UFC’s history. Leading up to the match, both combatants engaged in a war of words. Following Khabib’s victory via a neck crank in the fourth round, a brawl erupted after the match.

Due to Khabib’s retirement in 2020, McGregor has yet to avenge his loss. Nevertheless, he has expressed interest in a rematch on multiple occasions.

Set to return to the UFC this summer, McGregor disclosed receiving a call regarding a potential match against lightweight contender Michael Chandler. Although specifics are still not revealed, Chandler has confirmed discussions with the UFC.
