Masvidal on Nunes vs Kayla Harrison: (Kayla) turns into a freaking gorilla when she moves you to the mat.

Kayla Harrison’s recent debut at UFC 300 showcased her unparalleled skills. The 33-year-old elite wrestler, made her mark by swiftly defeating former champion Holly Holm.

Harrison’s dominance on the mat was on full display as she effortlessly executed takedowns, ultimately securing a second-round rear-naked choke for the win. During her interview after the match, Harrison boldly declared her ambition to claim the UFC title by year’s end.

Retired UFC champion Amanda Nunes wasted no time acknowledging Harrison’s victory. She made a social media post reacting to Harrison’s win. This sparked speculation among fans, hinting at a potential return to the octagon.

Addressing Nunes’ video during the press conference after the match, Kayla Harrison expressed openness to defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against the Brazilian powerhouse if she became the champion.

Recently, MMA veteran Jorge Masvidal weighed in on the prospective matchup during a recent interview on The MMA Hour. Drawing from his experience training alongside both Harrison and Nunes at American Top Team, Masvidal gave his insight into the potential clash.

He said: “Look, Holly Holm is an experienced fighter. I think she threw two knockdowns to Ronda Rousey. She knows how to fight. But you saw for yourself what Kayla did to her – she turns into a freaking gorilla when she moves you to the mat. Her striking technique is getting better and better. I would bet on Harrison to win.”

Jorge Masvidal previously joked in a 2021 interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he was terrified by his American Top Team teammate Kayla Harrison.

Back then, Harrison was winning her PFL women’s lightweight title and was a dominant force in the promotion.

Masvidal said: “She ‘s freaking amazing at fighting and for the most part I’m scared of her, you know, that’s why I can act wild now over the phone.”
