Mark Zuckerberg suggested MMA to MrBeast as a good way to get in shape

In a surprising revelation during a recent interview on the Colin and Samir show, YouTube star MrBeast shared an unexpected interaction he had with Mark Zuckerberg years ago.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, recounted a Zoom call with the Facebook founder where Zuckerberg invited him to his lake house to train and do MMA. This invitation came before Zuckerberg had publicly revealed his interest in wrestling and martial arts.

“He invited me to his lake to like train and do MMA,” MrBeast said. “I was like, what the f***? This is before he made that like public and people even knew he wrestled.”

The YouTuber expressed his shock at the time, saying he expected Zuckerberg to be “way more nerdy” and was confused by the focus on MMA and wrestling during their conversation.

Zuckerberg, who was present for this part of the interview, jokingly responded: “You don’t ask people to fight you the first time you meet?” He went on to suggest a hypothetical podcast format where guests would fight before having a conversation.

Zuckerberg detailed his need for substantial caloric intake to balance the energy expended during his intense workout regime a while ago. The tech mogul is not shying away from indulging in high-calorie meals, even from unexpected sources like McDonald’s.

When McDonald’s asked its followers about their preferred orders on Threads, Zuckerberg’s response raised eyebrows. “20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some cheeseburgers for later?” he quipped.

Zuckerberg even flirted with the idea of facing Elon Musk in a UFC cage match. While BJJ match has been proposed, the two are more interested in full on MMA despite Musk not even training and Zuckerberg being substantially younger.

This anecdote sheds light on Zuckerberg’s lesser-known interests and his unconventional approach to networking. It also highlights the Meta CEO’s commitment to fitness and combat sports, which has since become public knowledge.
