Mark Zuckerberg irks wife by constructing a full size MMA cage in backyard

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has stirred controversy by constructing an octagon in his backyard, hinting at his preparation for a potential mixed martial arts showdown with Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter and Tesla. This move has, however, ignited frustration in his wife, Priscilla Chan.

The speculation of a ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ between Zuckerberg and Musk has taken an intriguing turn as Zuckerberg shared an Instagram post showcasing a WhatsApp exchange with his wife. In the exchange, Zuckerberg praised the newly built ring, labeling it as ‘awesome.’ Contrarily, Chan expressed her dissatisfaction, pointing out that she had been nurturing the grass in that area for two years.

This candid exchange between the couple offered a glimpse into their differing perspectives on the matter. Zuckerberg further engaged his followers by posting a poll alongside the conversation. The poll question read, ‘What’s the Play?’ with two options: ‘Keep the octagon’ or ‘Save the grass.’ As of now, the poll indicates a strong inclination towards keeping the octagon.

Zuckerberg’s interest in the sport has led him to train with UFC Featherweight Champion Alex Volkanovski, who has praised Zuckerberg’s dedication and progress. Volkanovski’s endorsement of Zuckerberg’s commitment has raised eyebrows and generated curiosity about the Meta CEO’s potential capabilities.

The proposed match between Zuckerberg and Musk has garnered significant attention, with UFC president Dana White expressing his intent to promote the event. White’s enthusiasm for the matchup has even led him to consider raising the standard UFC pay-per-view (PPV) price from $80 to $100 due to the anticipated interest in the bout.

Zuckerberg recently said that the MMA match is no longer on, explaining:

“I don’t know. I don’t have any kind of official update on this. I mean, as you all know, I love fighting. It’s maybe a second place pastime for me beyond building things, where building things is my number one love, fighting might be number two. So yeah, I really like doing this. I’ve done ju jitsu competitions. I would love to do an MMA competition at some point. I wasn’t expecting this to be the one that I did. I’m not sure if it’s going to come together, but I just think that it’s a great sport overall.”
