Actor and fitness enthusiast Mark Wahlberg recently shared his picks for the greatest UFC fighters of all time during an early morning session with influencer N3ON. The conversation took place while Wahlberg was hosting the content creator at his home, where they discussed everything from training routines to combat sports.
When asked about his favorite UFC stars, Wahlberg didn’t hesitate to name Jon Jones as his top pick. “Jon Jones greatest of all time,” Wahlberg stated confidently. “Jon Jones is that man. Man ain’t getting no better.”
However, the Boston native made it clear that narrowing down his Mount Rushmore was no easy task. “That’s tough. I have so many,” he explained, before rattling off additional names that round out his list of UFC legends.
Joining Jones on Wahlberg’s Mount Rushmore are Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, Georges St-Pierre, and Chuck Liddell. The 55-year-old actor showed deep respect for both current champions and old school fighters alike, demonstrating his long history with the sport.
He said, “But you know love Khabib, Islam, Georges St. Pierre, Chuck Liddell. There’s so many, you know.”
Wahlberg revealed his connection to UFC goes back to the very beginning. “I’ve known about the UFC since it very first started, you know, with Royce Gracie and them,” he said. His ties to the organization run even deeper through his friendship with UFC President Dana White, who actually served as Wahlberg’s boxing trainer years ago.
The two were working together on a boxing film called “Out on My Feet” before the project fell apart. White was living in Las Vegas and managing athletes at the time, but had been training Wahlberg for the role. “Dana was my boxing trainer,” Wahlberg recalled, explaining how they stayed close and eventually got involved with UFC when the company changed ownership.
What separates UFC from other combat sports, according to Wahlberg, is the unpredictability factor. “The thing about UFC versus like boxing, and I was always a big boxing fan, is in any given night anybody could get caught,” he noted. “So that’s the difference I think. Anybody could win.”
