The release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files revealed an unexpected name among the nearly 2,000 pages of documents: Dr. Peter Attia, one of the world’s most prominent longevity physicians.
According to sources, While Attia’s presence in the files initially seemed limited to two emails. However, the full scope of their relationship tells a more complex story.
According to the documents, Attia first met Epstein in 2015 through Evan, described as Epstein’s ex-girlfriend.
Attia’s initial impression was enthusiastic: “He might literally be one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.” The relationship developed quickly from there, with over 1,700 PDF files mentioning Attia’s name throughout the documents.
The emails reveal a friendship that extended beyond professional boundaries. In one message, Attia wrote to Epstein: “I would really love to add 5 years or more to your life, even if the only reason to do so is to have more s*x.”

Another email showed Attia’s fascination with Epstein’s lifestyle: “The biggest problem with becoming friends with you, the life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul.”

The correspondence shows frequent attempts to arrange meetings, with references to Epstein’s various properties. Attia expressed interest in visiting Epstein’s infamous Little St. James Island, writing “I need to visit the island sometime.”
Other messages included “I miss you. Maybe I need to visit you on Palm Beach,” to which Epstein replied, “Good idea.”

The timing of some meetings raises questions. According to Attia’s own book, on July 11, 2017, his wife rushed their one-month-old infant to the hospital after the baby stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating.
She remained in the hospital for four days, pleading with Attia to return home. However, emails show that on July 12, 2017, Attia confirmed he could meet Epstein the next day in New York, citing “important work.”

The relationship appeared social as well as professional. Emails reference dinner parties with notable figures, including the president of Mongolia and Kathleen Rumler, the person Epstein called when the FBI arrested him. After one such event, Attia emailed Epstein at 3:40 a.m., expressing how much he enjoyed himself and inquiring about a woman he had met at Epstein’s residence.
Travel plans in the documents show a booked plane ticket for Attia to visit Epstein’s ranch on August 18, 2015, though the trip was cancelled due to Epstein’s schedule. In his February 2024 statement, Attia claimed he never visited Epstein’s island or ranch, though the documents confirm his expressed interest in doing so.
The relationship continued even after public revelations about Epstein’s cri mes. Following the November 2018 Miami Herald article detailing Epstein’s activities, Attia remained in contact for at least four months.
On December 4, 2018, he messaged Epstein asking, “What is fallout from recent story?” When Epstein responded that it was “Same as usual, just tougher,” Attia asked if there was any legal change.

Three months later, in February 2019, Attia was still reaching out, emailing with the subject line “Where are you these days?”
Much of the professional discussion in the emails centered on Epstein’s health concerns, particularly his extremely low testosterone levels and his skepticism about taking cholesterol-lowering medications.
Epstein appeared reluctant to take statins, referencing articles about their potential side effects, including increased diabetes risk. At one point, he jokingly called Attia “statin taker.”
The documents also reference how Epstein may have connected Attia with influential individuals, with one email mentioning Epstein wanted to get Attia “in front of the masters of the universe.”
When asked about how he met Kevin Spacey, the connection appeared to trace back through these networks.
In his February 2024 statement, Attia claimed he was “repulsed and nauseated” by the contents of the November 2018 Miami Herald article. He also stated that his continued contact with Epstein after that article was an attempt to get Epstein to be accountable for his actions.
However, the emails show standard scheduling and casual conversation rather than confrontation.
Epstein was convicted in 2008 of procuring a minor for illicit purposes, five years before his documented friendship with Attia began. The documents paint a picture of a relationship that evolved from professional consultation to what the emails describe as genuine friendship, with Epstein’s assistant noting at one point that “Epstein would love to see Peter as much as possible.”
