KSW reportedly paid star between $400,000 to $530,000 to face Eddie Hall

Mariusz Pudzianowski’s highly anticipated return to the cage ended in just 30 seconds when Eddie Hall dominated the Polish MMA veteran. The brief contest left fans stunned as Hall quickly took Pudzianowski to the ground and forced him to tap out.

After nearly two years away from competition, Pudzianowski’s comeback was cut dramatically short. Hall, making his mixed martial arts debut, immediately overwhelmed “Pudzian” with a flurry of strikes from the opening bell, eventually leading to the submission.

KSW director Wojsław Rysiewski didn’t hold back when discussing Pudzianowski’s performance during an interview on the YouTube channel “MMA – bądź na bieżąco.”

“Have you ever seen Mamed tap to strikes? Or Michał Materla? Or Adrian Bartosiński? Real fighters don’t tap to strikes, that’s the truth,” Rysiewski stated bluntly. He noted that typically referees stop contests when one fighter is overwhelming another with strikes.

Rysiewski’s criticism is particularly noteworthy given reports about Pudzianowski’s compensation for the bout. According to media sources, the 48-year-old signed a lucrative contract worth between 1.5 to 2 million Polish złoty (approximately $400,000 to $530,000) for the matchup against Hall.

The quick defeat and subsequent criticism from KSW leadership raise questions about what might be next for Pudzianowski, who has been one of the promotion’s biggest stars for years despite his advanced age in the sport.
