Kevin Lee would love to swap Eagle FC for a chance to face Khamzat Chimaev

Former UFC lightweight Kevin Lee tried to get back into UFC. Lee had been cut by UFC after a series of unfortunate knee injuries. It was also believed at the time UFC might’ve been vindictive toward Lee due to the fact he was being represented by (then) CAA’s Marquel Martin who was in the middle of the contentious Francis Ngannou dealmaking.

Lee had his debut in Eagle FC against Diego Sanchez in the single event Eagle FC had stateside. It’s possible Eagle FC is currently unable to hold events due to restrictions Russian citizens are facing due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Lee was public about his dispute with Nurmagomedov as well, but he’s now wishing to get back to competing in MMA.

After Chimaev made a series of comments alleging that everybody is ducking him, Lee threw his hat in the ring.

Khamzat Chimaev currently sits at number 3 on the rankings. He definitely aimed for a title shot next, but Leon Edwards is already booked for a trilogy against former champion Kamaru Usman.

Recently, Chimaev said that he wants Pereira and that four different men have said no to matching with him.

“Nobody wants to fight. F*ck these boys. They gave me four different countries, four different opponents. I just want to fight. Nobody wants to fight. Give me somebody. If the guys run away from me, just give me somebody. I’m ready,” Chimaev said on his social media.

This statement simply irked some UFC athletes such as Belal Muhammad and Paulo Costa who have been calling him out.

“Does anyone still believe these bullsh*ts?? Gourmet” Costa wrote on Instagram comment section.

Belal Muhammad also commented, “The four opponents that said no were Nick Diaz, Tony Ferguson, Brett Hart and Chris Leben.”

Not just those two, even former UFC athlete Kevin Lee was also willing to face the ‘Borz’. Lee took to his Twitter account to call out Chimaev. He also mentioned the UFC’s official Twitter account.

“I will fight [Khamzat Chimaev next. He won’t outwrestle me and I’ve never lost a first round. All I’m saying is I’m willing. Don’t act like everybody is scared of the man.” Lee wrote.

Kevin Lee mainly competed in the lightweight and division back when he was still in the UFC roster, but has also competed in welterweight.

Lee has one Eagle FC clash under his belt – an unanimous decision over Diego Sanchez.
