Junior Dos Santos says Mike Tyson owes him $50k

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos claims that the legendary boxer owes him $50,000.

After more than 12 years with the promotion, Dos Santos has been released following four consecutive losses (all came by TKO).

‘Cigano’ last competed against future interim champion Cyril Gane back in December 2020, losing by 2nd round TKO.

During his decorated UFC run, he had six bonuses, three Knockout of the Nights, and three FOTNs.

In an interview with The Sun, Dos Santos claimed that former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson stole a performance bonus from him.

“Back in the day, Mike Tyson took from me $50,000 because of Dana White!” Dos Santos said.

“Dana White said, ‘Junior Dos Santos has won two bonuses of the night. Best FOTN, and Best Knockout of the Night.’”

Tyson protested to White, and said it wasn’t fair to give two bonuses to one guy.

“But I was asking Mike Tyson and he told me to give the Knockout of the Night to somebody else! He said, ‘Why give two bonuses to just one guy?’ So he took away from me $50,000. So he owes me $50,000!”

After Dos Santos parted ways with his longtime employer, he hinted at a move to professional boxing despite his age.  He recently signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC and is scheduled for a bout with Yorgan De Castro at Eagle FC 47 on May 20.
