UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit made some remarks in his post-bout speech after defeating Derrick Lewis, including a claim that Michelle Obama is a man. During a follow-up interview with the Kairouz Bros, Hokit attempted to separate himself from those comments by attributing them to his in-ring alter ego, the “Incredible Hulk.”
When asked directly about the statement, Hokit quickly distanced himself from it.
“That was the Incredible Hulk. I don’t know what that was all about,” he said.
However, when pressed on whether the character genuinely believes the claim, Hokit doubled down on behalf of the persona.
“He 100% believes,” Hokit said.

The heavyweight went on to explain why the character holds that view, pointing to what he described as evidence he had seen online.
“I’ve seen some videos. I’ve seen some videos and you see that little thing just withering in the dress,” Hokit said.
He also referenced a long-running internet conspiracy theory involving former President Barack Obama.
“Barack wants to talk about shout out to Michael. You know what I’m saying?,” he added.
Hokit acknowledged that making such comments on a UFC broadcast could potentially lead to repercussions. He suggested he was prepared to deal with any fallout.
“Yeah, I’m sure. And that’s why I have to pay for it,” Hokit said.
He then made another controversial remark, adding, “And so just know that I’m not suicidal. I’m in good spirits. And so if something happens to me, you know what happened.”
The interview also touched on his match with Derrick Lewis, particularly an armbar attempt that drew attention during the bout. Although commentator Joe Rogan noted that the submission did not appear to be fully locked in, Hokit explained what he was trying to accomplish.
“I thought his thumb was pointing, I was doing the basic jiu-jitsu,” Hokit said. “His thumb’s pointing up in the sky. That’s what they teach you.”
Reflecting on why the technique failed to produce a finish, he added, “And I was, maybe I got to do some more hip thrust. I don’t know. Maybe I got to get in the gym where I need to really expand those hips into it.”
Hokit was also asked about a potential future matchup with Alex Pereira, who recently suffered a loss to Ciryl Gane.
“Ciryl Gane, he’s a big athletic guy and he throws straight punches,” Hokit said. “His fig ht IQ is good and so I’m not surprised.”
Despite Pereira’s recent defeat, Hokit made it clear he would still welcome the opportunity to fight the former champion.
“But I would love to give Pereira a match,” he said.
