Jon Jones roasts ONE FC’s Chatri Sityodtong: Without the UFC there would be no ONE Championship

Undisputed UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to his official Instagram to address comments made by ONE Championship CEO, Chatri Sityodtong.

In his post, Jones asserted that without the UFC there would be no ONE Championship for Sityodtong to oversee. He went on to label Sityodtong as a ‘hater’ while responding to recent remarks about the UFC.

Jones is scheduled to headline UFC 295 in November at Madison Square Garden. He will face off against the former two-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in an eagerly anticipated heavyweight title clash.

After a three-year hiatus, Jones made a stunning return to combat sports in March of this year. He secured a first-round submission victory over former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane with a guillotine. This victory earned Jones the vacant heavyweight title.

In a recent statement, Chatri Sityodtong compared the talent pools of ONE Championship and the UFC. He contended that many strikers in the UFC exhibit subpar skills.

According to Sityodtong, “What you see in, let’s say the uFC, is very sloppy, mediocre-ish stirking because they’re not strikers. A typical UFC fighter is a D-1 college wrestler, 7-0 in the minor leagues and then they do a little bit of of striking then they enter the UFC. At ONE, all these are world champions before they arrive and they’re already multiple [times] world champions at the peak of their career when they arrive.”

In response to Sityodtong’s comments, Jon Jones came to the defense of the UFC. He argued that Sityodtong’s critique is unlikely to attract viewers to ONE Championship.

Jones stated: “Bro, this doesn’t make anybody want to watch your show any more. You just sound like a hater. Winners focus on winning, losers focus on winners. Stay in your lane and do the best you can. Without the UFC there would be no ONE.”
