Joe Rogan reacts to Oscars slap, criticizes “emotionally fragile” Will Smith

Joe Rogan recently reacted to the most talked-about moment during the most recent Oscars ceremony.

Will Smith had an altercation with Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Smith’s wife’s hair. Rock ‘s joke angered Smith enough to decide to storm the stage and throw a hard slap on Rock’s face that had everyone in the world startled.

According to Joe Rogan, Smith was “emotionally fragile” and shouldn’t have assaulted Chris Rock.

Joe Rogan, who is also a stand-up comedian, stated that Chris Rock was just doing his job and that the joke he told about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair was “mild”, to say the least.

“I think he was being emotionally fragile and he acted on impulse,” Rogan told his guest Josh Barnett in a recent episode of his podcast. “It’s a foolish impulse that you do when you know that there’s no consequences.”

“So when you’re hitting a very small person. … You don’t go and sit in the front row as a star at the Oscars, there’s a professional comedian whose job is to roast people, what he did was not even insulting. It was a mild joke.”

Rogan was really upset at Smith’s decision to assault his fellow comedian.  He had more to say about the celebrity scuffle later:

“The idea that you think it’s smart while you’re wearing a tuxedo to walk onto a stage in front of the world – literally the world, one of the biggest award shows on earth – and smack a comedian for the mildest joke. And then sit there quivering, saying ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth!’ And everyone’s just going to sit there in the s**t that you just took on the table. You just pulled your pants down and took a s**t on the dinner table and everyone has to just sit there and look at that.”

Rogan was also the brunt of the joke that night with Breaking Bad actor Dean Norris wishing Smith had slapped Rogan instead.
