Joe Rogan has no doubts in his mind as to who wins Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing bout

58-year-old Mike Tyson still had the quickness and strength to “f*** up” Jake Paul in their Netflix boxing match, according to Joe Rogan.

Scheduled for July 20 in Texas, Tyson’s decision to face a competitor over three decades his junior at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington has stirred significant anticipation among fans and critics alike. Although the renowned heavyweight boxer stepped back into the ring for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, he retired from professional boxing in 2005.

After defeating Ryan Bourland in the first round in Puerto Rico on March 2, Paul currently has a 9-1 professional record and is favored by bookies to win.

However, UFC analyst Rogan has issued a warning to people who are discounting Tyson because he will be 59 years old when the match takes place. He said: “I don’t give a f*** if he’s 55 – that’s still Mike Tyson. He trains with Rafael Cordeiro, who’s a legend in MMA – he runs Kings Mixed Martial Arts. Rafael is a world-renowned trainer.”

Under the guidance of renowned MMA trainer Rafael Cordeiro, Tyson has been honing his skills at Kings Mixed Martial Arts. He has shown impressive speed and power during training sessions.

“When you see him holding the mits for Tyson and Tyson is smashing the mits. Jesus! That guy can still f*** you up. In this world with hormone replacement and vitamins. He does all this electrical muscle stimulation recovery stuff.”

“When they were training Mike for that Roy Jones fight they were using state-of-the-art science. I don’t give a f*** if he’s 55 years old, that guy will hurt you. If Jake Paul’s on the other side of the ring and he sees Mike Tyson bobbing and weaving he’s going to have a recognition. He’s going to look over and go, ‘Oh my God, that’s really Mike Tyson.”

Rogan underscored Tyson’s exceptional speed. He noted that even at 55 years old, Tyson remains a formidable force in the ring.

Rogan went on to add: “At 55 the power is the last thing to go but the thing is the speed is still there. It’s terrifying. And I don’t know what he did with Roy Jones Jr but in my mind, they made some sort of agreement where Mike wasn’t going to punch him in the face because most of the hits he hit him with, unless it was a jab, was to the body.”

Despite Tyson’s formidable reputation, Rogan acknowledged Jake Paul’s evolving skill set and rising prominence in the boxing community. Transitioning from his origins as a YouTube personality, Paul has proven his mettle in the ring.

He said: “Just forget that Jake Paul is a YouTube guy and watch him fight. The kid can fight. 100 per cent. That Tommy Fury fight really showed that. It goes to a split decision against a legit undefeated boxer.”

When Tyson first spoke in April 2022, he seemed very confident in his ability to defeat opponents like Paul. He said: “The only thing I got to do is be in shape. 30 days of boxing training every day and I can fight anyone. If I’m boxing every day I wouldn’t even have to worry about [my] diet.”
