Joe Rogan Claims He’s Politically Neutral In Latest Attempt To Distance Himself From Trump Endorsement

Joe Rogan used his latest podcast episode with guest Arsenio Hall to make clear that he considers himself politically unaffiliated, describing himself as “politically homeless” in what appears to be a continued effort to walk back the attention surrounding his endorsement of Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election.

During the conversation, the subject of political parties came up organically as both men reflected on how dramatically the American political landscape has shifted over the decades.

Rogan described his frustration with the two-party system, telling Hall: “I’m politically homeless. I’ve always been politically homeless for a long time. Neither one of them make any sense to me.”

Rogan expanded on this position, arguing that the country needs a more pragmatic approach to governance.

“We need like a logical centrist government that just says there’s a lot of things that we should do to make this country a better place,” he said. “We can do these things and we don’t have to attach them to left or right.”

He also took aim at the tribal nature of modern political identity, comparing party loyalty to sports fandom.

“It’s a team thing. It’s like the Dolphins versus the Raiders. You pick a team and your team rules and the other team sucks.” He continued: “There’s a lot of people out there that are not open-minded and they love a good rigid ideology that they could adhere to. So now I don’t have to think for myself.”

Hall, who noted that his father was a Republican and his mother a Democrat, echoed similar frustrations, adding that party labels require a timestamp to even make sense.

“When you deal with Democrat, Republican, you have to attach a year because it’s evolved and changed many times,” Hall observed.

Rogan also reflected on his past voting record, revealing he has previously cast ballots for Libertarian candidates. “I’ve voted libertarian before,” he said. “I did that with Jo Jorgensen. I did that with Gary Johnson. I voted for both of them.”

The comments come months after Rogan’s high-profile endorsement of Trump ahead of the 2024 election generated significant controversy, with many critics arguing the podcast host was using his massive platform to influence the outcome. Since then, Rogan has repeatedly pushed back on the idea that he leans in any particular political direction.
