Joe Rogan Accused Of Mainstreaming Fake Archaeology, Contributing To A Broader Anti-science Mentality

In a discussion between Professor Dave Explains and archeologist Flint Dibble, Joe Rogan‘s platform emerged as a central concern in the spread of pseudoscientific narratives, particularly regarding archaeology and ancient civilizations.

Professor Dave was direct in his assessment of Rogan’s show:

“This is what Joe’s show has become. The occasional grifter used to be outnumbered by more reasonable guests or at least just harmless comedians. That time has passed. He almost exclusively interviews total lunatics like Terry (Howard) or grifting charlatans like Billy (Carson), Graham Hancock, and all of these anti-establishment ancient aliens fra uds pedalling campfire stories to make their millions. At this point, it’s a proven business model. That’s why these () keep popping up and Joe keeps giving them a voice.”

It is their mutual impression Rogan’s platform legitimizes pseudoscientific claims. When discussing the famous debate between Graham Hancock and Flint Dibble on Rogan’s show, Professor Dave Explains noted the contradiction in how alternative theorists view establishment credentials:

“The exact kind of people who go like if you take somebody from Harvard that’s that’s contradicting Graham Hancock or one of the other things they fall for they go oh that’s part of the establishment and I you know they’re compromised and everything but the moment one of them is spewing some cr*p that they like he’s a Harvard professor he’s the smartest guy of all time.”

Many have turned on Joe Rogan over how he treated archeologist Flint Dibble after the Graham Hancock debate he hosted on JRE.

Professor Dave noted that thousands of people have told him that made their perception of Joe Rogan change.

The conversation revealed a pattern where Rogan’s platform serves as a funnel into broader pseudoscientific beliefs. Professor Dave Explains explained:

“There are so many of those funnels. There are so many of those funnels that lead into the pseudocience pipeline where one can then descend as low as they like. Right. They can once you fall for one thing and you start to distrust any kind of expertise then well it’s all up for grabs.”

Flint Dibble emphasized the real-world impact:

“Polls out of Chapman University show that about 50% of Americans believe in Atlantis or a similar lost advanced civilization from the ice age. So this is pervasive and we cannot blame our fellow Americans and citizens and people around the world for believing this because it is presented as legitimate in mainstream sources. Places like Netflix, IMDb and Amazon all list Graham Hancock’s Ancient Apocalypse or his books as legitimate archaeology.”

The conversation also touched on how Rogan’s platform enables the persecution complex that many pseudoscientists adopt. The two argue that claiming you were cancelled actually gives you a bigger platform than actually just being an expert.

“it’s always the same. I’m being cancelled. I’m being, uh, you know, demonized by the establishment. Uh, I’m a whistleblower. Works every () time. ”
“It’s Joe Rogan’s favorite story. That’s why he endlessly platforms anyone who tells him a story like this.”

Both speakers agreed that Rogan’s influence extends beyond entertainment, contributing to a broader anti-science mentality that now affects government policy and public health. Professor Dave Explains warned:

“Pseudocience is no longer some, you know, weird video on YouTube or some guy ranting on a street corner. It is official state narrative and it’s a mess. It’s worse than it’s ever been in human history and it’s time to start fighting back.”

Many of Joe Rogan’s biggest episodes feature fake archeologist and not main stream celebrities and politicians.
