Jake Paul set to face pro boxer Andre August

The eagerly awaited match is finally on the horizon. Combat sports enthusiasts worldwide have been eagerly anticipating Jake Paul’s next move.

Following his impressive victory over UFC icon Nate Diaz, the renowned YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to square off against Andre August in a professional boxing match.

The event will take place on December 15 in Orlando, Florida. Notably, this clash won’t be a pay-per-view event. Instead, the match will be available to subscribers of the DAZN streaming service.

Diehard fans of combat sports are well aware of Jake Paul’s track record, particularly his victories over ageing and former MMA stars like Diaz, Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley. But his first match against pro boxer Tommy Fury resulted in Paul’s first defeat in his boxing career.

Undeterred, Jake Paul is poised to seize another opportunity. He will be competing this time against Andre August, who boasts an impressive pro boxing record of 10-1. He received five of those victories by way of knockout.

Taking to Instagram, Paul shared his thoughts on the match and how important it would be to his chances of winning a world title.

He wrote: “Ask and I shall deliver. August has more KO’s than me, more wins than me, more experience than me, but I like to gamble. The path to world champ starts here. Just straight up boxing.”

In a press release, Paul emphasized his commitment to facing formidable professional boxers like August.

Paul stated: “So far, my entire boxing career has been on PPV, but now it’s about more than business. Now I want to build my experience in the ring.”

“I’m a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life.”

Currently boasting a boxing record of 7-1, Jake Paul acknowledges that he’s perceived as the underdog against August. However, he sees this match as a gateway to new opportunities and potential greatness in the world of professional boxing.
