As Jake Paul continues to make waves in the combat sports world, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has revealed the four fighters he’s eyeing for his highly anticipated MMA debut.
Since transitioning from social media to the boxing ring, Paul has faced off against several former UFC stars, including Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. Now, with a multi-year deal signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), the 25-year-old is setting his sights on the MMA world.
According to Paul, the first name on his list is none other than Nate Diaz. “I think I could beat Nate Diaz in my first MMA fight. It would be tough of course, 50/50 fight,” he told TalkSport.
Another familiar face that Paul is considering is Jorge Masvidal. “Nate Diaz, Masvidal, I would face in MMA and then I don’t even know like who else is out there that would that would make sense really,” he said.
The YouTuber also expressed interest in a potential matchup against Tyron Woodley, describing it as a “good backup plan” that “would go crazy.”
Lastly, Paul hasn’t forgotten about his longtime rival, Tommy Fury. The Brit is the only blemish on Paul’s boxing record, and the social media star is eager to get his revenge.
“Tyron would be interesting for sure. I think that could be like a good backup plan. That would go crazy,” Paul said. “We have the money, we’re ready to go. We’re ready to make offers to people. It’s just like they have to be able to draw sales and it has to be a fight where it’s like this is my first MMA fight.”
While Paul’s MMA debut is still on hold, with his highly anticipated boxing match against Mike Tyson taking priority, the prospect of seeing him step into the cage against any of these four opponents has fight fans buzzing with anticipation.
