Jake Paul announces quick turnaround, Boxing return in March

Renowned social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul is set to step back into the boxing ring in the first quarter of 2024. However, the limelight won’t solely be on him. This time, he’s sharing the stage with Amanda Serrano.

On March 2, Paul will co-headline a boxing match in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As of this writing, Paul’s opponent for his boxing comeback has not been revealed.

The focal point of the event will be Serrano’s defense of her IBF female featherweight title against Nina Meinke in a historic showdown. Set for a gripping 12-round contest, this match is poised to become a significant event in the landscape of women’s boxing.

Serrano previously gave up her WBC boxing title in protest against the commission’s unwillingness to set regulations similar to those for male boxing matches.

In a recent tweet, Paul unveiled his return to the boxing scene. He said:

“Guess who’s back 🙂 … Jake already? Yes, I’m on a mission… But this one is much bigger than me. This one is for the greatest Puerto Rican boxer ever, Amanda Serrano. This one is for the people of Puerto Rico, from the Choliseo to the world.”

“This one is for all of boxing to see how powerful women are in this sport and for Wanna Walton to usher in his superstar boxing future in front of 20,000 people. I can’t wait to fight in San Juan and show the world this beautiful island. Yours truly, El Gallo de Dorado.”

Paul’s recent victories over Nate Diaz and Andre August followed his initial setback earlier in the year. Beyond boxing, he’s gearing up for his debut in professional MMA within the PFL SmartCage in 2024.

On the other hand, Serrano has won four consecutive matches since her split decision loss to Katie Taylor in April 2022. A potential rematch with Taylor may take place next year.

Notably, Serrano holds the distinction of being the first undisputed Puerto Rican boxing champion.
