Gina Carano Lost 100lbs To Weigh In At 141lbs For Her Ronda Rousey Netflix MMA Event

Gina Carano stepped onto the scale recently and announced on Instagram that she had weighed in at 141.4 lbs (64.1 kg). This was the result of an 18-month transformation that saw her shed an extraordinary 100 lbs (45.4 kg) ahead of her Netflix event opposite Ronda Rousey.

In a social media post, Carano reflected on the physical and emotional weight of her journey. “I just weighed in at 141.4 lbs,” she wrote. “Since Sept 2024 to today, May 15, 2026, I have lost 100lbs. It hurts to say that and share but I am going to share it because I worked so damn hard every week for over a year and a half to shed this weight. It did not happen overnight.”

The road back was not simply about dropping weight. Carano revealed that at the outset of her transformation in September 2024, she was in a precarious state of health, one that left her struggling with the most basic physical demands of daily life.

“I was pre-diabetic, had trouble simply walking in September and have been on the path to recovery to turn myself back into an athlete since then,” she said.

She described the process as relentless and, at times, genuinely overwhelming. “It was hard, SO hard,” Carano wrote. “There was so much to learn, too much to unpack here, ups, downs, plateaus, things I learned late I wish I learned earlier, trial by error but I did it.”

Carano credited her long-time rival and now opponent Ronda Rousey as a central force behind the transformation. Without the prospect of competing at the Netflix event, she suggested, the goal may never have been within reach.

“Thank you to Ronda, who waited patiently while I lost this weight and giving me something to aim for,” she wrote.

The Netflix event, produced in partnership with Most Valuable Promotions, marks a long-awaited meeting between two of the sport’s most recognizable figures. Carano noted that while she has accomplished something remarkable, her attention to health and athletic development is far from finished.

“There is still so much I need to learn and want to do in the health space and to continue transforming my body,” she said.

She closed her post with a message rooted in faith and gratitude. “I thank God, my husband and my family for sticking with and encouraging me the whole way,” Carano wrote, before offering a heartfelt word to her followers: “I pray this encourages you wherever you are in your health journey. Believe there is hope. Never give up.”

The weigh-in post came just hours before the event, and Carano signed off by saying, “We’ve worked so hard to get here. Tune in!!”
