Former boxing champ Ebanie Bridges vying for a chance to box influencer Astrid Wett on Paul vs Tyson undercard

Former IBF bantamweight titleholder Ebanie Bridges has set her sights on a lucrative opportunity on the undercard of the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson showdown.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul announced his exhibition bout against boxing legend Mike Tyson. Scheduled for July 20th at Texas’ AT&T Stadium, the event promises to be a blockbuster. Additionally, streaming giant Netflix is slated to stream the event to audiences worldwide.

Although the undercard has not yet been revealed, Bridges is eager to compete. She took to social media to issue a bold challenge to Astrid Wett.

Bridges wrote: “Can I beat up Astrid Wett on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson? I mean I’d enjoy it.”

However, the call out comes just hours after Wett herself said she would want to compete on the undercard. However, she wants to compete against a very different opponent.

Referring to the former Manchester City and England midfielder, Wett said in a video: “I think it’s about time I out my gloves back on and call out Jill Scott. Now I know she’s a little bit taller than me but I’m sure we can make it work and this would definitely sell out an arena, and a big payday for Jill, too.”

Wett has participated in numerous influencer boxing events, some of which were sponsored by the Misfits. She has competed in three bouts, all against content producers and reality stars.

She said, “Jill Scott, you know what to do” and then added a clip of Tyson famously telling Bob Sapp to “Sign the contract, big boy!”

Bridges replied to it by writing: “I’d happily beat you up as the co main on this card… don’t worry about Jill Scott she might be scared but I ain’t let’s go baby £££££.”

Bridges has a 9-2 professional record. She has a ton of ring experience, but was unable to defend her IBF bantamweight world championship against Miyo Yoshida in December.

Bridges responded bluntly when a fan questioned her about why she had started calling out amateurs.

She stated: “Same reason Jake Paul calls out real fighters – it’s called promo/marketing and getting people talking so thanks for your input as it all helps. Plus, I’d never say no to a very easy pay day… unfortunately Miyo has to fight her mandatory, so I ain’t about to wait around. I’ve done enough waiting the last two years – I want money and fights.”

It remains to be seen whether a match between Wett and Bridges in the undercard happens. However, everyone will be focused on the main event as boxing icon Mike Tyson returns.
