Known for his diverse submission game, Abdoul Abdouraguimov aka “The Lazy King”, scored a contender for submission of the year against former UFC fighter Godofredo Pepey.
Adboul was able to land an inverted triangle on his opponent after defending an Omoplata and scrambling to Pepey’s back, and from that position, he finished the fight with an armbar.
With this victory “The Lazy King” is now 14-1-1 in his MMA record.
Coming off of 4 straight wins, Abdouraguimov cements himself as one of the up-and-coming prospects to watch out for in the coming years.
The reverse triangle is definitely one of the rarest submissions in MMA. We can pretty much count on our fingers how many times we’ve seen that submission on the cage.

The most notorious time we’ve seen a reverse triangle in action was in 2009 when the now UFC Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal was put to sleep while being on the receiving end of a reverse-triangle-choke against Toby Imada.
