Matt “The Mangler” Bessette retired last night following a very interesting submission victory. Bessette had been active in MMA since 2007 – and has accumulated a 25-10 career record. Bessette is currently 36 years old.
Bessette made it to the UFC following a Dana White’s Contender Series performance in 2017 – however he only managed to go 0-2 at the prestigious promotion. He later became a Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES) champion.
This brings us to Bessette’s last title defense. Following an unsuccessful attempt at finish from the back – he transitioned to the armbar. However his opponent defended well – but opened himself up to a fail on another submission. You can watch the clip below:
