Ben Azoulay walked onto the WiseNuts podcast ready to spin his loss to Gypsy Crusader and get ahead of a wave of controversy. Instead, the hosts caught him in contradiction after contradiction, correcting his story in real time. Here is every instance.
The “30 guys” brawl story
During the conversation, Azoulay bragged, “I brawled against 30 guys at the same time and they couldn’t take me out.”
The hosts pulled up an old clip where he described the same incident differently: “You said that you were jumped by 30 guys, but in this video you said you brawled 30 guys.”
Azoulay eventually admitted, “I did get jumped by 30 guys. They beat the s[]t out of me.”
The SA conviction
Additionally, Azoulay claimed the age gap between him and his victim was minor: “I was 18. She was almost 16. Less than 2 and 1/2 years difference between us.”
The hosts pushed back immediately: “That’s not what the hospital records showed, from what I recall.”
When pressed on whether what he did was wrong, Azoulay said, “At the time, I didn’t know.”
The host refused to let it slide. He stated, “Forget at the time. Forget at the time. Today, if you ask… you had no idea she was 16 years old.”
Claiming he is the Messiah
Azoulay recounted a story about God telling him “the Messiah is here” and described people messaging him that he is “the Jesus Christ, Yoshua, of this time.”
A host called it out directly: “Brother, you said that God told you you’re the Messiah. That’s blasphemy.”
After being confronted about his exaggerated claims, Azoulay suddenly rebranded himself: “I love to entertain people.”
The host caught the shift instantly, stating, “It’s the first time I’m hearing you call yourself an entertainer.”
Excuses for the Gypsy Crusader matchup
Azoulay tried to explain away his performance by claiming he rolled out of dangerous positions himself rather than being taken down.
“You allowed him to grab your foot and toss you over,” a host said.
Azoulay backpedaled: “Not really. I flipped over myself. But okay,” to which the host replied, “Uh, yes and no.”
Azoulay also pointed to nerves and lack of camp time to explain his showing. The hosts weren’t buying it: “Cuz we’ve seen you do the ice bath. We’ve seen you do the training… these sound like excuses.”
During the podcast, Azoulay also insisted Ali Sobh was the one who backed out and mishandled the promotion. The hosts reminded him of the full history, including his own team’s back and forth, undercutting his version of events.
Throughout the episode, Azoulay kept adjusting his stories only after being shown the receipts, admitting by the end that he had spent years “exaggerating” for the camera.
