Dricus Du Plessis has put Brendan Schaub in his place for his erroneous prediction about the UFC 305 title contest between Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.
Brendan Schaub had confidently predicted that Adesanya would “dominate” Du Plessis, stating that the former champion was “well-rested, trained, and looking stronger.” However, Schaub’s prediction was only partially correct, as Adesanya did initially dominate the action. But the tables turned when a relentless Du Plessis eventually submitted the former champion, resulting in an embarrassing situation for Schaub.
Schaub did not shy away from his mistake; instead, he embraced the humiliation and even trolled himself on social media. Reacting to a stat about Drake’s dismal sports betting record, Schaub simply stated, “Same same,” acknowledging his own poor prediction.
The embarrassment was further compounded for Drake, who had placed a significant bet of almost $500,000 on his close friend Adesanya to win. Unfortunately, the Canadian rapper’s prediction, like Schaub’s, proved to be incorrect.

Dricus Du Plessis, on the other hand, was not about to let Schaub off the hook. The South African fighter has been keeping receipts of everyone who doubted him, and Schaub was at the top of the list. Following his victory over Adesanya, Du Plessis took to social media to remind Schaub of his prediction and to call him out for never being “the main guy at anything.”
In his scathing message, Du Plessis wrote, “@BrendanSchaub great prediction.. You has been JK haha you’ve never been.” This was a low blow, but it is not surprising coming from a fighter who has been known to go for the jugular, both literally and figuratively.
