Darren Till targeting boxing date against Mike Perry, keeping options open for UFC return

In a recent interview with Comon sense, former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till revealed that he expects to box ex UFC star Mike Perry “in the next few months.” Till said negotiations are ongoing to make a boxing match between the two happen, stating “Like as a boxing match? Yeah, as a boxing match, yeah. You know, the negotiations are ongoing now.”

Till expressed confidence that if the boxing match with Perry goes past the first round, he’ll be “disappointed.” The Liverpool native told Perry directly, “I’m not gonna fight you been not cuz I’m scared, just I don’t feel like at this age I should be f**king me body in the end.”

While a boxing match with the controversial Perry seems to be Till’s primary focus at the moment, he made it clear he is keeping his options open for a potential return to the UFC. “I know I’ve got a lot of time left to go back and attack that one as I say I’ve left on good terms with the UFC,” Till said.

Till explained that while bare-knuckle could be an avenue for him down the road when he’s older, right now he wants to preserve his modeling career, saying “Your modeling contracts will be gone” if he competes in bare-knuckle at this stage.

The 30-year-old Till last competed in the UFC in December 2022, losing a middleweight bout against Dricus Du Plessis. Of course Du plessis’ stock has risen considerably since, with him capturing the UFC Middleweight title with a win over Sean Strickland.
