Dana White on McGregor at BKFC: “He got caught up in the moment”

UFC president Dana White recently shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s appearance at the BKFC event. Because of his contract with the UFC, McGregor is not allowed to compete for any other professional combat sports promotion.

The MMA icon was called out by former UFC welterweight Mike Perry. He implied that he would want to compete against McGregor in a bare-knuckle boxing match. The two then faced off inside the ring, which has sparked rumors of a potential matchup between the two.

In an interview with the My Mom’s Basement podcast, White addressed McGregor’s presence at the BKFC event. Robbie Fox questioned him about McGregor turning up at the BKFC event, wearing a BKFC belt on his shoulder, and facing off against BKFC icon Mike Perry.

White jokingly suggested that atmosphere may have played a role in his decision to face off with Perry. Despite this, White did not seem too concerned about the incident, stating that McGregor has done a lot for the UFC and is entitled to have some fun.

White stated: “Yeah, I think that Conor went out and was having fun. And he got caught up in the moment. And, you know, the dude [Perry] called him into the ring. And, you know, he did it.”

“But, you know, listen, man. At the end of the day, Conor has done a lot here. He’s made a lot of money. The guy’s out, having fun. And, you know, it’s all good.”

Robbie Fox then asks White if McGregor facing off with Mike Perry upset him. White replied by saying: “Not at all. Not even a little bit.”

While Mike Perry has suggested that a bout between him and McGregor would be the biggest matchup right now, it is unlikely that it will happen anytime soon. Regardless, the possibility of this matchup has garnered a lot of attention from fans.
