Dana White Calls Donald Trump An ‘Alpha Male’ And ‘Tough Guy,’ Slams Media Portrayal As ‘Gross’

UFC CEO Dana White sat down with Piers Morgan in a recent interview and did not hold back when the conversation turned to his longtime friendship with President Donald Trump. White called Trump him an alpha male, a tough guy, and one of the funniest people he knows while taking aim at the media’s portrayal.

The topic arose naturally as Morgan noted that being publicly associated with Trump tends to trigger strong reactions. White acknowledged the reality of that dynamic but showed no signs of distancing himself from the friendship.

“Donald Trump is a very good friend of mine,” White told Morgan. “I was just with him last week again and he’s hilarious and he’s an animal.”

White expanded on just how much he enjoys being around the president, making clear the relationship is far from a formality.

“He’s a great human being and every time I was just with him last week again and for two days after I left him, I was cracking up laughing about stuff that he said while I was there,” White said. “He’s hilarious. And he’s an animal. He is literally the hardest working guy I know.”

White then turned his focus toward what he described as a deeply unfair and dishonest media portrayal of Trump, using pointed language to convey his frustration.

“He loves this country and he cares about people and how he is being portrayed by the media is actually gross,” White said. “It’s gross the way that they portray him because he’s the furthest thing from it.”

When Morgan asked White point blank whether Trump qualifies as an alpha male, White gave an unequivocal answer.

“He is an alpha male and he’s a tough guy, man,” White said.

White was careful to note that while he has spoken at Republican conventions and Trump rallies, he does not see himself as a deeply political figure and never uses those platforms to attack the opposing side.

“I’m not as political as everybody thinks I am,” he said. “Anytime that I’ve ever spoke at the Republican convention or for Trump or at any of his rallies, you never hear me putting down the other side. I never put down the other side.”

White also revealed that a major UFC event is planned at the White House on June 14th, which happens to be Trump’s 80th birthday, as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations.
