Cormier hits back at Darren Till – who wants him to give up commentating on UFC 280 over Bias

Daniel Cormier has long been criticized for his bias.

One of his colleagues in the commentary booth – Dominic Cruz said he’d prefer to mute Cormier.

“When it comes to ‘DC,’ I usually mute it. I love DC, he’s my friend, but to me, from my experience, he doesn’t do the homework. He wants to get in and out, get the job done, make his money, and I think he cares about us but it’s just different. He doesn’t do the preparation from my experience.”

And while his peers have one set of complaints –  the mma fandom has an entirely different one. For starters Cormier often commentates the bouts of members of his team, American Kickboxing Academy. During these events, Cormier often fawns all over his team members and mostly fanboys. This was particularly apparent when it came to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev and other AKA aces.

But apparently the fans are not alone in this. Darren Till recently voiced his concern over the prospect of Cormier commentating on UFC 280 Makhachev vs Oliveira set to happen in Abu Dhabi.

This time Cormier took it to heart and even wrote a response saying:

“And honestly my commentary doesn’t affect the judges or anything honestly. Most times my team is mad at me because they feel I am too much in other direction. Do better Till!”

The Cormier response is infuriating – mainly due to the fact that absolutely nobody ever had any doubts as to which way Cormier is skewing during a broadcast. In addition to this – the judges for UFC 280 are already going to be skewered in Makhachev’s favor – which is why Oliveira’s team wouldn’t even agree to the match until UFC threatened to put In Michael Chandler instead of him.

And while Till and the fandom are hoping Cormier is left out of the commentary booth this is highly unlikely due to the fact that UFC 280 is a PPV card – and considering it’s abroad Joe Rogan is bound to miss it making the likely team for the broadcast Bisping, Anik and Cormier.
