Conor McGregor Says He’s Accepted Jesus And Gave Up Drinking

In a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast ahead of UFC 329, Conor McGregor opened up about a personal transformation, revealing that he has accepted Jesus Christ into his life and has stopped drinking entirely.

When asked how his newfound faith would affect his post-bout plans, McGregor was direct.

“It’s no longer I who lives, it is Christ who lives in me,” he said. “And all things are possible for me because I am a believer. I have the keys of the kingdom. I am an heir of the royal family, an heir of the royal estate.”

He acknowledged that the real test of his commitment will come when the celebrations kick off after the match.

“I know that I face my biggest challenge post bout when the world is all over me. And I will stand strong,” he said.

On whether he plans to attend the after-party, McGregor was clear: “Will I be at the after party? I’ll be around. Will I be drinking? No.”

For those curious about how he handles social situations without drinking, McGregor said he has found something that does the job.

He stated, “I have forged Irish stout 00. I actually like the 00s. Originally, I thought it was an abomination to mess with it. But it’s actually delicious and it scratches the itch.”

The UFC star, who has spoken openly in the past about his party lifestyle, sounded resolved about leaving that chapter behind.

“I ain’t getting caught up again. I’m not getting caught up again,” he said. “I’m not disgracing the position I’ve been put in.”

McGregor’s comments came ahead of his return to the Octagon after five years away, competing against Max Holloway at welterweight,170 lbs (77 kg), at UFC 329. The extended absence followed a leg break he sustained in 2021.

He spoke with confidence about his training, his energy, and his physical condition. “I’m going to really exercise my discipline post-bout, for sure,” he said.
