Charlie Sheen sat down on the Hodgetwins Podcast for a conversation that eventually landed on Donald Trump, politics, and the state of the country.
When the discussion turned to tensions involving Iran, one of the hosts voiced concern, saying, “Hopefully Trump hasn’t b*mbed Iran with a nuke. That would be good if he didn’t.”
Sheen echoed the sentiment, replying, “That would be good if he didn’t.”
The conversation then shifted to how difficult it has become to discuss politics openly. Reflecting on the current climate, Sheen said, “I don’t think it’s… man, it’s so hard to talk about anything these days without getting beat up by somebody. You can’t talk about anything because clearly, if you speak about it in a certain way, you’ve chosen a side.”
One of the hosts agreed, adding, “You either got to be far left or far right. There’s no in-between anymore.”
Sheen expanded on that idea, pointing to how even basic reasoning can become politicized. “What if you’re just about like, his assassination as a glaring example, what if you’re just a fan of common sense and simple physics, right?” he said. “What if you know enough about ballistics? What if you know enough about certain things that you’re being told happened a certain way, but you’re looking at them saying, ‘Well, that’s just f**king stu*id.’”
The host then emphasized his stance on independent thinking, saying, “I don’t like being told how to think. We’ve had some criticism for Trump and the whole Iran thing, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to vote Democrat now. It’s just, that’s my opinion.”
Sheen responded by explaining his own approach to consuming information. “Well, I pay attention to a lot of stuff and I consume a lot of it from all different types of media,” he said. “I just choose not to jump in the middle, right? Because I don’t feel like I can be of any value to whatever side I decide to support.”
Later in the conversation, one of the hosts brought up the Epstein files, expressing frustration over how the situation has been handled. “I thought that would, ’cause he ran on that, and then for him to change it up and say it’s a hoax, it’s a Democrat hoax, and it’s a bunch of Democrats in the file,” he said. “I’m like, well, if that’s true, why don’t you release everything? Tell them to crucify these people.”
