Charles Oliveira knows who his next opponent is

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is known for his humble personality. Even on social media, he often interacts and replied to his fans.

In a recent Twitter exchange with a fan, apparently, the Brazilian hinted that he knows who he’s fighting next.

Oliveira lost his title in an unexpected way. He got stripped after missing weight by 0.5 lbs ahead of his UFC 274 fight against Justin Gaethje after someone miscalibrated the scale.

This made him the first-ever champion in the promotion to lose his title on the scale.

While many have defended him and called for his reinstatement as a champion, the UFC seemingly won’t budge.

Fortunately, he won the fight against Gaethje. He submitted ‘The Highlight’ early in the first round. With this win, he is now the a shoe in for a shot at the vacant title in the near future.

Many names have been floated for his opponent. While there are names like Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush, there is also a possible marquee fight against Conor McGregor.

Apparently the UFC has chosen an opponent but is not ready to announce just yet.

‘Do Bronx’ confirmed in a conversation with a fan on Twitter.

In the tweet, Oliveira was sharing a video from his TikTok account. Under the tweet, a Twitter user named Josh Lewis asked him did the UFC decided on his next opponent.

To everyone’s surprise, the Sao Paulo native answered “They did.”

While he hasn’t spilled more about his next opponent, many are in agreement that it would be the No.4-ranked Makhachev.

Makhachev’s head trainer, Khabib Nurmagomedov has been campaigning for his longtime teammate’s title shot despite lacking wins over ranked opponents.

Nurmagomedov also has hinted that a fight in Abu Dhabi in October would be a perfect place for their showdown.

The UFC President Dana White has previously stated that he would like to re-book Makhachev against no.6-ranked Dariush. But he wouldn’t rule out a Makhachev matchup against Oliveira as well.
