Chappelle assailant got his arm broken during the security team’s intervention

Dave Chappelle was tackled on stage by an armed fan late Tuesday night. Chappelle was performing at the time the incident took place.

Aerial drone footage captured the attacker as he’s wheeled off on a gurney and loaded into an ambulance and taken to a hospital.

Witnesses from the show say man rushed the stage and tackled Chappelle. He was then subdued by security.

The security can be seen overwhelming the attacker – which resulted in him having a broken arm.

Considering the man was armed it’s hard to tell if the force used was necessary. But the extent of it was certainly fairly severe.

Chappelle wasn’t injured in the attack. Following the security intervention he thanked them and continued his set:
“It was a trans man.” Chappelle said not missing a beat.

Chappelle was under fire for the comments he made on the topic during his last special. This produced a lengthy albeit unsuccessful campaign to cancel the comedian.

Commenters online had a spicy take on the situation with one on looker observing:
“An unidentified man tackles Chappelle. While the crowd celebrates the beat down of his attacker by security guards, Chappelle turns the communal celebration of violence to focus not on free speech but trans identity.”
