CEO of Combate Defends Featuring Trans MMA Fighter Against Woman

Yesterday we wrote about the war Combate Global is waging on youtube channel More Plates More Dates in order to get the video covering the trans fighter Alana Mclaughlin’s MMA fight against a biological woman deleted. In the article we pointed out several key points.

  • the video is transformative – it features commentary regarding the perceived hormonal advantages and more
  • The promotion went out of their way to sponsor Mclaughlin’s fight camp

But it doesn’t end there. Their CEO took to twitter recently to praise Joe Rogan for his softened stance on the matter.

During a recent 90 minute podcast for his friend Tim Dillon’s show Joe Rogan appeared to have done a 180 and was now completely fine with an MMA fight featuring a trans gender female vs a biological female.

“Well the trans MMA thing was big. But it wasn’t, it wasn’t valid. It was people that don’t want any criticism whatsoever about trans people.

And I was like: ‘Look, I don’t have a problem with trans people right I have a problem with someone pretending that they’re a biological woman and fighting women.’.

Once you say you’re trans and everybody says okay I’ll fight her –
Fine. I’m fine with that. And in fact MMA is one of the best places for that
Because you know exactly who your opponent is. Unlike like this swimmer. Was it UPenn? Is that what it is? The swimmer that’s like lapping all these biological women, that’s f—-d because they don’t have a choice they have to compete. “

But the commentary went beyond that. In subsequent tweets Campbell defended his actions while slamming UFC for featuring Greg Hardy.

Hardy was arrested for assault and communicating threats, after he was alleged to have assaulted an ex-girlfriend by grabbing her, throwing her into furniture, strangling her, and threatening to kill her. On November 5, 2015, the domestic violence charges against Hardy were expunged from his record. The following day, Deadspin released police photographs of Hardy’s ex-girlfriend’s injuries.
